Arthur Baker’s influence in the music industry is unarguable. Arthur Baker’s contributions and productions will remain relevant throughout the history of music. Innovation is unstoppable and so is the kick behind Planet Rock! Arthur Baker is in town for Miami Music Madness (as we like to call it) and we were beyond stocked when he agreed to talk to us and tell us a bit more about what he has in the works.

A couple of years ago, when I first moved to the Design District/Wynwood area, the now demolished Chiquita Banana Plant (above) was still on NE 2nd and 33rd street. The plant particularly caught my eye because back then we were developing the “tropi” brand and banana’s were one of the symbols we initially used to associate it. As I got to know the locals, I discovered that the Chiquita Banana Plant I had my eyes on had been hit up by a local artist. I’ve gotten to know the artist and have been following his sketches, photography, and street art ever since.
Amy Rosenberg Talks Overtown Music Project
Founded four years ago by Amy Rosenberg, the Overtown Music Project (OMP) has since been shining a light on the historic cultural contributions of the otherwise uncelebrated neighborhood of Overtown. OMP has introduced a free, after school music program into the area, in partnership with UM at Frederick Douglass Elementary School, and host seven events a year – six in throughout Overtown’s former entertainment district and one Miami Beach, showcasing and honoring some of the musicians who once made their living in Overtown.
Phillip Bloom Miami x Interactive Film
Philip Bloom is an industry veteran of 23 years of which he spent a large portion working in broadcast news and documentaries. What turned Philip into an idol for many independent filmmakers though is his pioneering work with DSLR and affordable large sensor camcorders.
Basically, he showed us all that gorgeous images are possible on a pretty low budget. We all rushed to buy a Canon 7D or even better 5D, then visited his website religiously, along with over a million other fans, hungry for the next free video tutorial.
