Rap Tees: A Collection of Hip-Hop T-Shirts
Basement, Friday, December 4th, 11pm Like a phoenix from its ashes Peachfuzz rises again, at least for Basel. Honestly, I have no idea what this party is but I saw those magical words “PEACHFUZZ PRESENTS” and i was instantly in. For those of us who still miss the legendary weekly party (R.I.P. Grand Central) this party is definitely a must during basel week. The rap tees sound pretty cool too, I guess. I’m just going to shake my booty.
This one was just announced so no ticket info yet, but its definitely one of my top picks this year. Record Label Fade to Mind returns for basel this year with the FADE TO MIND PHARMACY. Label mates KINGDOM, TOTAL FREEDOM, MIKEQ and LEONCE along with “secret guests” will be making an appearance. Honestly I’m here for Kingdom and Mike Q, These two have produced and remixed for some of my favorite artists such as LE1F and KELELA. Also they know how to make you make that pop if you know what I mean.
Dave 1 | SLAP & TICKLE | ART BASEL
Dave 1, The Tall lankier half of Indie electro super duo CHROMEO is making a stop at Bardot for a special Slap&Tickle BASEL set Tuesday night. Known for their 80s Funk influenced Electropop as a duo its safe to expect a similar sound from his set.
Swedish tech house sensation Axel Boman makes a rare Miami appearance for basel this year! His mellow, groovy yet intricate sound is a perfect fit for an intimate spot like Bardot. If you like deep, understated bass this is the place to be Wednesday night.
AVEY TARE | ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DJ SET
BEAT MACHO | BENOIT & SERGIO
“Welcome to The Carpet Benoit & Sergio, Benoit & Sergio draw from influences mostly uncommon to house and techno like bands such as The Talking Heads, Pavement, Roxy Music, Daft Punk and Ricardo Villalobos. All these influences resonate clearly in their music, joined by a kind of sexualized melodrama that makes its way into lyrics about loneliness, French girls, wine and Ferraris.”-From last years guide
“Fall under the spell of American singer-songwriter, BØRNS, whose powerful presence has graced stages around the world from Lollapalooza, to London and now our very home. His new album Dopamine is out now, but catch the magic in person on Basel Friday! Then, enjoy a bumping afterparty brought to you by Miami’s Motown vinyl master, Mr. Brown, ’til the wee hours of the morning.”
