GRAMPS x BASEL
Its never too early to start your Basel partying and our friends over at Gramps are serving up one hell of a week plus line up! Gramps will play host to this year’s returning Look Alive Fest and Bushwick’s Bossa Nova Civic Club. With nightly shows including Iceage, guest DJ’s like Pictureplane and plenty of Penicillin cocktails to keep you numb from exhaustion, you’re sure to embrace the final event of Sleep (not the band).
#IHAITIBASEL
Wynwood is so passé, this Basel it’s all about the renaissance happening on the out skirts. Miami’s creative initiative MGKAT is kicking off the neighborhoods events with the #IHAITIBASEL and Strange Ways Launch Party at the Little Haiti Thrift, complete with buffet dinner, fashion show and a performance by Richard Kennedy of Hercules & Love Affair. Get ready to WERK! The renown vogue Catwalk party is on Saturday from 10pm-2am, featuring Zebra Katz, Gooddriod & Bonnie Beats. Dress your weirdest for a chance to win some Basel bucks and prizes. For all your after party needs the Cheetah’s Lounge will be open every night at an undisclosed location from 11pm-4am.
AUDIO JUNKIE BASEL DISTRACTION
More bands than you can handle, this Audio Junkie weekend line up is an event inside an event inside a suite – woah inception! The Jellyfish Brothers, Pockets of Lollipops, Plastic Pinks, Sweet Bronco, The Band in Heaven and 30+ more musical acts from far and local will come together for a weekend shred fest sure to keep you distracted from all that fancy, shmancy art. Don’t miss a special guest DJ set by our own Dopedoll Radio!
DISCOBOX
Celebrating its inaugural Basel is Miami Beaches newest club Discobox. Located in the basement of the luxurious new boutique hotel EDITION, their stellar nightly line up includes DJ Harvey, Horsemeat Disco, LCD Soundsystem‘s James Murphy, Soul Clap, Lee Foss, Louie Vega. Plus a mix of local favorites Laura of Miami, Mr Brown and Nightdrive Miami‘s Patrick Walsh. Owner Ian Schrager isn’t bringing you any ordinary club experience, Discobox comes equip with both a bowling alley and an ice skating rink! We wouldn’t expect anything less from the co-founded of Studio 54. Doors open at 11 each night and this party is strictly invite only.
AHOLSNIFFSGLUE BACKYARD BBQ
The man with the eyes all over Miami hosts this one night BBQ event. Think the ultimate Miami take over featuring plenty of bass and booty, brought to you by Otto Von Schirach and Metro Zu. Get inked with free Aholsniffsglue eye ball tattoos by Gordie. Heck, even the hamburger and hot dogs buns will be branded with the signature eyes! Dress in your best Biscayne World outfit, Miami’s own Nefarious Girl, Jipsy, will be documenting the debauchery.
BASEL CASTLE
If you’ve never been to an Overthrow party than prepare your soul for the brutal takeover that is Basel Castle. This year’s acts feature Future Islands, Yung Lean, Heroes x Villains and Mykki Blanco, plus mind melting music from Heroes x Villains, Key!, Ho9909, The Outfit, TX, Tamara Sky, Damaged Goods and more. Expect sensory overload with every aspect of the event incorporating dynamic visual art curated by LA based artist Hannah Stouffer and installations by NYCHOS. This year the festival returns to its origins in Wynwood in, yes, an actual castle!
LE BARON
For those of you who enjoy the finer things in life, or just plain love to party, Le Baron is the ultimate after hours destination. Considered an Art Basel tradition, every year the French take over a secret location to bring you an all out revolution. Its all about who you know, or pretend to know, to get into this exclusive nightly VIP party.
