On Tuesday, December 3rd, Heineken Light Your Night Challenge presented five South Florida multi-media artists, Yuri Tuma, Juan Carlos Zaldivar, Clifton Childree, Brandon Opalka, and Kevin Arrow, at the Light Box at Goldman Warehouse into a maze of light installations.
U.S. Military drone attacks in the Middle East have stirred-up a great deal of controversy in American society. Possible uses for drones go far beyond murder weapons.
Currently, domestic drones are being used for land surveys and search and rescues which just scratch the surface of the technologies potential. Locally, drones have been tested byMiami Police Department in the Everglades.
By 2020, there will be an estimated 30,000 drones hovering over the United States.
Testökra took the stage at the Vomikaust show this past March and stood out (almost effortlessly) among the other bands that played that night. As the music began to explode and spill into the crowd at our beloved Churchill’s Pub, the atmosphere immediately changed. The crowd was awakened by the blaring beating life of Testökra’s electrifying set.
Testökra is made-up of three Miami natives - Carolyn Helmers (Guitar/Vocals), Nicole Mijares (Bass), and Ale Campos (Drums). Carolyn and Ale met while going to local shows and Ale met Nicole in a photography class.
