December is upon us, which means the end of another wild year in SoFlo. From music festivals to Art Basel, we always end the year on a high note. This year was even better when the Riptide Music Festival washed up on Fort Lauderdale beach for it’s 3rd year. This was an epic one, having added a 3rd day (fri night), and it’s best lineup yet. Bands like The Jackson’s who played friday, with Lisa Lisa, and Shela E. Saturday showcased new bands, up & comers, and some veterans of pop music. Some of the lineup for Sat were: lovelytheband, Alice Merton, Sir Sly, Bishop Briggs, Blue October, Robert DeLong. Headliners for Sat night included, Young The Giant, Sublime With Rome, and Panic! At The Disco. The day was long, the weather was great and the beach was packed with amazing fans.
Sunday was the last day, which meant another long, beautiful day on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. The lineup today was amazing, with acts like, The Crystal Method, Matt & Kim, Gin Blossoms, 3rd Eye Blind, +LiVE+ together again after several years apart. Collective Soul and 311 closed out the festival. This festival has grown over the years, and it keeps getting bigger and better. I recommend any fans of music and those just seeking a good time, to go check it out in 2019. There is plenty of food, beverage, and great places to camp out and listen to some great music. Remember while everyone north of Florida was freezing and getting ready for snow, we were all on the beach having a three day party. Entercom does a great job in producing this festival. It’s well organized and tickets are quite reasonable. I for one am looking forward to seeing if they can top it in 2019!
