The following weekend, I found the answer amongst Brickelistas at what claimed to be Miami’s freshest vegan restaurant, Crate. What a joke. The drinks were watered down and the vegan bites served over empty nightclub ice buckets left much to be desired. They got me and a whole lotta of other folks because the place was packed. Just like Miami to ride a trend and build a hype for a whole lotta nothing and forget our roots and soul. Bummer.

The same night of that terrible opening I followed my love for indie and ended up at the HoC kick- ass Launch Party at 1306 Miami. We missed the opening by Peyote Coyote but caught Caveman. Their amazing performance was a taste of what’s to come from HoC fest and it was there amongst our HoC, Mishu, and 1306 fam that I remembered that it’s up to all of us to support our local arts, culture, and live music.
