Nothing says summer in Miami like warm sunshine and a cold brew, so this is the perfect time for the launch of Beck’s Urban Canvas, an outdoor art endeavor designed to showcase some of the city’s most amazing artists. Spearheaded by the German-style beer brand, the project includes 15 commissioned murals going up in Little Havana, Little Haiti, Wynwood and the recently launched artist live/work area known as the Leah Arts District in Hialeah.
Beck’s Urban Canvas is a community-centric concept, aimed at enhancing Miami’s art landscape and shining the spotlight on some of the most impressive talent in the 305. Robert William de los Rios curated the 12 participating artists, highlightingthat the city has equally incredible male and female artists.. The roster includes 2 Alas, Abstrk, Diana Contreras, Don Rimx, Ernesto Maranje, Hoxxoh, Jessy Nite, Jose Mertz, Magnus Sodamin, Trek 6, Typoe and Tatiana Suarez.
The designs are diverse and unique to their creators, from a hummingbird by Trek6 to a haunting female face by Tatiana Suarez. Beck’s let the artists follow their own creative visions, says de Los Rios, so the results are inspired and artistically pure.
In addition to the art, which will be going up throughout the summer and into September, Beck’s Urban Canvas will create special pop-up party experiences in support of community programming such as Viernes Culturales in Little Havana, Big Night in Little Haiti, Arts and Entertainment District, the Leah Arts District and Wynwood Art Walk.
