South Beach is synonymous with palm trees, Cuban coffee and it’s iconic pastel buildings that dominate the landscape – indeed a ‘Pastel Paradise‘. The 1988 film documents the history of South Beach and Leonard Horowitz, the man whose love of Art Deco birthed the pastel palette that we now so familiarly associate with Miami. As a lover of all things vintage, the history behind things has always piqued my interest, and in a lively city like ours, there is always a unique past to discover.
Take a trip down Miami’s memory lane with a look at last weeks Art Deco Weekend Festival, where kitsch wares, vintage cars and plenty of colorful characters took over Ocean Drive.
