Mood Ring Boutique (see: Dopedoll Fashion Chronicles: Moodring Boutique) has tons of new vintage beachwear for the summer. Lover of all things neon, kitsch, and slightly tacky, this vintage aficionado zones in on 80’s – 90’s clothing for a time when clothing was made in the USA, loud prints weren’t frowned upon, and wearing parachute pants might score you a date. Mood Ring is bringing it to Fox House in the Design District, Sunday, June 22nd (this afternoon)!!
For one day only, Fox House (see: Dopedoll Fashion Chronicles: Fox House) and Mood Ring Boutique are teaming up to present the ultimate summer vintage trunk show. An excellent opportunity to snag some summer swag! There will be giveaways, champagne, and good vibes.
“I love colors and prints, and basically anything a Midwestern tourist visiting Miami would have worn while on their family vacation. I’m nostalgic for a time when things were much simpler, when our economy was stable, and ready to wear fashion was fun (and better made!)”
Mood Ring mastermind, Melissa Brouard, has a background in costume designing and originally wanted to open an online store to sell her costume designs. She shifted her attention to vintage clothing after becoming increasingly frustrated with the growing “fast food” culture of the ready to wear market — the clothes are cheap, shitty, and barely last one wash. Why throw away your money on 80s/90s replicas when you can have the real thing? Not to mention it’s a little more green to recycle vintage pieces and give them a second life.
“As an eccentric dresser, chain stores just don’t cut it for me. I’d rather dig through heaps of thrift and find a gem that I know will be a one of a kind piece.”

Fox House and Mood Ring Boutique are teaming up to present the ultimate summer vintage trunk show. Fox House has some really great pieces in her shop that definitely deserve to get checked out. Melissa Brouard of Mood Ring wants to show people how modern fashion can be blended with vintage pieces to create a buzz worthy look. Their focus is definitely to get ladies ready for the summer by bringing you what you need to hit the beach, pool, or go on vacation.
