Hey kids! Thursday, September 6th is the Strangeways Issue 12 Release Party - Save the date!
Introducing BEUX, the brand spankin’ new happy hour at Kill Your Idol featuring a special installation for the release of the 12th Issue of Strangeways.
The very talented artist Luis Pinto just wrapped up a very successful solo exhibition, Before The Legends Of Man at Kid Robot.
Keeping himself busy and (kinda) staying out of trouble, Luis launched BEAUX, a sort of underground art scene happy hour, earlier this month.
Next, he is getting ready to release the new issue of his magazine Strangeways.
BEAUX
The happy hour special is 2 for 1 everything! The music for the party is loosely based around a rock-n-roll theme, so that’s a mighty big umbrella. Think punk, punk, metal, classic rock n roll, doo woop, rock-a-billy, surf rock, thrash, no wave, nu wave, goth rock, and so forth.
“BEAUX is a happy hour party that I started hosted by Strangeways.”
It’s a happy hour because it starts earlier than the other KYI parties, 8PM – 2AM, a realistic time for those of us that work our asses off and never make it to happy hour by 5PM.
STRANGEWAYS
Strangeways is a Miami based art magazine featuring artworks and poetry made by Luis Pinto with a little help from his friends.
“Here to bring you something lost. Something tangible and beyond what is now. We encourage creativity and questioning of whats been carved into stone.”

Release Party
The party kicks off Thursday, September 6th at 8PM and keeps going till the wheels fall off…and yes of course, there will be an open bar for the first hour, so if you’re broke or a hipster try to arrive early.
There will be an installation made up of 12 posters representing the 12 artists (see list above) that contributed to Issue 12 of Strangeways. A lot of the artworks will be different from those featured in the magazine so don’t miss it!
