Monthly Series Premiere featuring Aura the Band

Food and music go hand in hand; so with a drumstick in one hand and drumsticks in the other “Drum Stick. Drumstick” combines the two.

giphy (2)Introducing a new monthly series talks food & music with local bands and musicians.

I sat down with my good friend Aura Peralta, front woman for “Aura the Band” who’s fresh off her Colombian tour to get the dish on her favorite food and jams, “food jams”

What is your all time favorite munchie?

Papitas! (french fries) with pink sauce mayo mix; the perfect balance of ketchup & mayo [which is a little more ketchup than mayo]

What kind of fries do you like?

“I aint got no type…Papitas are the only things that I like”. Although, I love all papitas; chunky, skinny, long and short…they must be salted to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

I definetly prefer regular fries over sweet potato fries, the pink sauce just doesn’t work as well with the sweet fries. Oh and curly fries are always an extra good time 😉

What drink would you pair a basket of warm, crispy, pink sauced curly fries with?

Tito’s vodka with a splash of club soda with extra lime (3 limes minimum). I call this “Aura’s Lemonade”, this intoxicating and refreshing drink will keep you cool during these hot, Miami days.

Lastly, what song would serve as dessert?

July Talk’s “in the garden”…I’ve been jamming hard to them lately. Its Sexy.
