THE GLOBAL CARIBBEAN – CSA-HAITI 2016

As a prelude to the annual Caribbean Studies Association (CSA) Conference to be held in Haiti for the first time,in 2016 under the theme, “Caribbean Global Movements: People, Ideas, Culture, Arts for Economic Sustainability,”CSA and the Florida Africana Studies Consortium (FLASC) invite the public to a symposium exploring issues that will have an impact on future transcendence beyond putative paradigms of underdevelopment.

This South Florida event provides an opportunity to discuss the ways, from music to nursing, in which the Caribbean is not only local but global. Haiti’s important role in this process will be highlighted. Presenters’ books will be available for sale.
