Sundance Film Forward: 1979 Revolution

Thursday, October 22 2015

12:30 PM-1:45 PM

What it takes to bring an innovative approach to narrative storytelling and cinematic performances and production value to digital technology like a video game?

Join Sundance Film Forward for an immersive workshop with creator Navid Khonsari to present his current independent game 1979 Revolution and the process of creating the first documentary cinematic game/ Verite Game.

A presentation/slideshow will show the game from conception to current state plus the process of creating a narrative cinematic experience. Part of the workshop session will include an immersive experience for attendees as they are led through an exercise that demonstrates how to build a story with multiple branching possibilities to create an independent game that can be commercial while valuing empathy. The presentation will conclude with Navid and audience members playing the current and most recent version of the game — a sneak peak of the game only a few months before it’s release.
