New World Symphony Presents Face Off: A Battle of the Instruments

Saturday, January 5 2019

7:00 PM-9:00 PM

Part symphony, part American Idol, this competition presents audiences with an interactive event where they determine the winner. Instruments will take on the roles of competitors and Fellows will participate for the bragging rights of playing the best instrument in the orchestra. “Face Off” allows audiences the opportunity to experience classical music like never before, letting them crown the winning instrument through votes each round. The competition will be emceed by Miami’s own celebrity music mogul, DJ Irie and conducted by Dean Whiteside. “Face Off” is designed by Bass Fellow Andrea Beyer, Horn Fellow Corbin Castro and Clarinet Fellow Angelo Quail. Fellow-driven projects are sponsored in part by the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation. This project is supported in part by a grant from the Paul R. Judy Center for Innovation and Research of the Eastman School of Music.
