Moogfest2016

Second Wave Lineup Announced

Moogfest’s second wave lineup has crashed ashore, adding to its’ already burgeoning list of artists, which is to be held in Durham for the first time, from May 19-22. The biennial festival has grown since its inception, originally to honor Robert Moog’s birthday, and has grown into a multi-day technology focused festival with performers, panels, instrument building workshops and exhibits.

Miike Snow, Grimes, and Black Madonna are some of the acts to join the roster, alongside noise-rockers Health, and Bob Moses just to name a few of the additions. IBM’s Watson will be dipping his toes-erm, cables into the DJ business, as he spins his first set: appropriately under the name “DJ Watson”. Also announced were several exhibits, notably Burt’s Bees Hives at the American Tobacco Campus and Kyle McDonald’s Wifi Whispherer, where “leaky data” from festival-goer’s phones and tablets will be repurposed into visual and audio soundscapes.
