Regina Jestrow: Linens

Regina Jestrow’s art practice combines painting, printmaking, quilt-making, and embroidery. She was born in Queens, New York, and learned various forms of needle work from her mother. Regina went to High School of Art & Design, and Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied photography, and studied printmaking at Florida International University.

Linens is a series of stretched canvases inspired by traditional quilt patterns and offer an illusion of a colorful abstract landscape. The paintings are created with a combination of sewing, hand-embroidery, and painting. They are installed tiled on the wall mimicking the building-blocks of a quilt.
