Presented by GPK crew, the Purvis Young Graffiti Wall of Fame is a space dedicated to remembering Purvis Young’s spirit as Miami’s original street painter since the 60’s. Before Art Basel, artwalks, wine and crackers receptions, Purvis Young encompassed the true spirit of the street artist, not getting caught up in the hype, and keeping it real to his craft and community. At the same time, North East “graffiti” culture was developing and finally made its way fully to Miami in the early 80’s, through hip hop culture which also was cultivated on the streets. With graffiti becoming the major form of street art in our generation, we present the Purvis Young Graffiti Wall of Fame (The Purvis Wall). These colorful walls represent a window into present and future street art talent..
Line up writers from GPK, DAM, HS and more guests. Special thanks to Ghost Life, Rolling Stock gallery and Night Life Family….
