The 3rd Miami Int’l Children’s Film Festival

The biggest film festival for South Florida’s children and families is back! Due to last year’s success the weekend-long Festival has been extended to six days of international cinema featuring a dozen films. The festival showcases a diverse range of films for ages 3 to adult not otherwise available to Miami audiences. Children will enjoy as hands-on art workshops, parties, meet-the-filmmaker events and more. The event provides South Florida families with fun, meaningful and thought-provoking activities within a supportive community setting, while exposing children to alternative film programming that will broaden their horizons.

• 10:00 a.m. – Film Screening: “Film Screening: “Kids Fix Mix 1,” Encore screening

• 12:00 p.m. – Film Screening: “The King and the Mockingbird” (France, Ages 6+)
Florida Premiere
o The film is based on Hans Christian Andersens fairy tale The Sheperdess and the Chimney Sweep. A king is in love with a painting of shepherdess, but little does he know that she has eyes for someone else. Will she escape her painting with her beloved without the king noticing?

• 1:00 p.m. – Stop Motion Animation Workshop
o The workshop will take place at the Coral Gables Museum.
o Admission is $25.
• 2:00 p.m. – Film Screening: “Ballet Boys” (Norway, Age 9+)
Florida Premiere
o The film documents three friends’ journey of being accepted into Norway’s prestigious ballet academy. The slow-motion dance sequences and life-altering auditions provide for an intriguing inside look into the world of ballet world for young male dancers.
