With the mission to prevent Miami-Dade County students from dropping out of school, Communities in Schools of Miami will host a “Striking Against Striking Out” Bowling Fundraiser at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 7th. The fundraiser will take place at the Bird Bowl Bowling Center in Miami and is open to the public. Corporate sponsors participating in this year’s fundraiser include City National Bank, AT&T, United Way of Miami-Dade, Miami Marlins, Verdeja, De Armas & Trujillo, LLP, Lehman Autoworld, and Popular Community Bank.

Participation is $20 per adult bowler and $12 for children under the age of 10. Each ticket includes two hours of bowling, bowling shoe rental and a fun experience for a good cause. Attendees are also encouraged to bring new school supplies for CIS of Miami’s annual Fill the Bus drive, which collects necessary school materials for local children in need.

All proceeds from the event will support Communities in Schools’ programs and resources that are proven to keep students in school and motivated to graduate, including mentoring, tutoring, life skills development, case management, counseling, job readiness and much more.
