Featured Speaker:
Wednesday March 25, 2020: Michael Burtov, Founder & CEO at GeoOrbital and Vice Chair, MIT Enterprise Forum
Over the last 15 years, Michael Burtov has started-up and lead four startups through their lifecycle (bringing two of them to millions in revenue and millions in funding). He has funded his companies by using diverse methods that range from the classics, like Angel Investors, Venture Capital, Strategic Partners, and Banks – to being the first to raise over $1M with Rewards Crowdfunding ($1.26M raised on Kickstarter) AND over $1M with Equity Crowdfunding ($1.47M raised on StartEngine). These unique experiences lead him to author the “The Evergreen Startup” – a framework for securing alternative startup funding. He has taught his controversial, and often counterintuitive, Evergreen method to hundreds of founders and executives all over the world at the invitation of organizations that include Harvard Business School, Harvard Innovation Labs, and the MIT Sloan School of Management. He currently teaches the Evergreen framework at the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge, where he is also the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors.
If you are a fan of SHARK TANK, you’ve likely seen him pitch celebrity investors on TV or might have seen him or his work profiled on the Discovery Chanel, documented on CNN’s Great Big Story or featured in hundreds of media outlets around the world – from Forbes to FOX to Fast Company.
In 2019 Michael’s work was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine and named one of the top inventions of 2019 and in 2018 Michael was named a Gold Edison Award winner for innovation and excellence.
Are you or do you know of a founder that would be interested in telling their story in a fireside interview? If so email [email protected] with your name, company, city and short bio about yourself.
