Join Girls’ Club and guest curator Micaela Giovannotti for the opening of our annual exhibition, Self-Proliferation.

Selections from the eclectic collection of Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz, Self-Proliferation presents works by more than 30 contemporary artists that probe the varied manifestations of female identity. Curated by Micaela Giovannotti. A diverse range of editioned works including photographs, prints, videos and artist books suggest that the act of replication is at the core of a versatile and fecund feminine identity.

Artists on view include Ida Applebroog, Chitra Ganesh, Annette Messager, Wangechi Mutu, Elizabeth Peyton, Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, Lorna Simpson, Mickalene Thomas. South Florida-based artists include TJ Ahearn, Rosemarie Chiarlone, Dara Friedman, Jillian Mayer, and others.

Also opening this evening, the only Broward iteration of the multi-venue survey exhibition of South Florida art, 100+ Degrees in the Shade, curated by Jane Hart, in the Annex Space next door to Girls’ Club. www.100degreesintheshade.com.
