Screenwriting Lab with Tom Musca
Saturday, May 23 2015
9:00 AM-2:00 PM
Learn how to write and sell your screenplay in this hands-on lab with screenwriter and UM professor, Tom Musca.
Backstory, creating a character, the importance of the first ten pages, conflict, subtext, dialogue – a great script has many elements and acclaimed screenwriter and UM Professor Tom Musca is going to demistify them for us, using the example of Stand and Deliver and most recently, Bad Hurt.
From concept to character, from opening scene to finished script, he will be presenting easily understood guidelines to help aspiring screenwriters – from novices to practiced writers – hone their craft.
This is not a passive workshop. In addition to lecture, we want you to come with your script ideas and ready to pitch, so be sure to prepare a log line and a film synopsis before you arrive to take full advantage of the lab.
We also highly recommend you become familiar with the film Stand and Deliver, as it will be used as reference for instruction.
