Thursday, February 13 2020
7:00 PM-8:30 PM
In celebration of Black History Month and anticipation of Pérez Art Museum Miami’s Seventh Annual Art + Soul, celebrating the Fund for African American Art, join us for a special conversation between writer, curator, and activist Kimberly Drew and visual artist, educator, mother, and activist Loni Johnson.
Drew and Johnson will discuss Drew’s work in developing the Tumblr blog Black Contemporary Art, her forthcoming book “Black Futures,” and her role in various spaces and institutions, including The Studio Museum in Harlem and The Met.
This conversation will highlight PAMM’s year-round work and dedication to diversifying and enriching the museum’s permanent collection through the acquisition of contemporary art by African American and African diaspora artists.
