Rutshelle Guillame & Mario Chandel
at Big Night in Little Haiti
Friday, March 20 2015
6:00 PM-10:00 PM
The March edition is a special double bill: Rutshelle Guillaume and Mario Chandel
March is International Women’s Month, and what better way to celebrate, than by introducing amazing young singer Rutshelle Guillaume. Here is one of the leading new voices of Haiti’s nouvelle scene, fresh yet sophisticated.
Also in the plaza, the roots-fueled rhythms of Mario Chandel and his group. Chandel means candle in kreyol, and here is a burning light of voudou rock.
Between sets, DJ Mack.
Delicious kreyol cuisine from Leela’s Restaurant and other specialties.
The hands-on art activities for kids are sponsored by Positive Impact Foundation / Kose Famn and Bass Museum of Art.
In the gallery, I Am A Man, the powerful exhibition examining human and civil rights.
Just because Big Night ends at 10pm doesn’t mean you have to go home! The Little Haiti Cultural Center hosts an after party at the Caribbean Marketplace featuring Chef Creole Famous Grill, DJ Big Ben and more.
At 7th Circuit Productions, Moksha Family hosts a party with the Moksha Roots All Stars.
