Saturday, April 25 2015
2:30 PM
Join artist Nicole Salcedo as she leads our first creative workshop at Flowerbox Projects! Illustrate on your own pot and learn how to plant household herbs such as oregano, rosemary, and sage. Nicole will walk us through basic plant care, covering soil, water and lighting conditions. Materials will be provided.
Nicole Salcedo is a Cuban-American born and raised in Miami, Florida. In 2010, she earned her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Nicole eagerly returned to Miami to recover from the tropical withdrawal she felt while living up North. Her quirky illustrations and patterns humanize and express a love of nature. While these drawings call to mind the familiar flora of Miami, they are also very much conjured from a fantastical world of her own.
Plants from Little River Cooperative. Refreshments provided by Lemon City Tea.
