Performance by Akuzuru: Ak-t 2 “The Knowing”
Friday, April 25 2014
4:30 PM-5:30 PM
For her first live performance in the U.S., Trinidadian artist Akuzuru will debut an interdisciplinary work in two acts over two days, evoking themes of fertility and interconnectivity. The complex piece will include horses, as well as dancers who will carry out extended interventions around the exterior and interior of the Museum. Akuzuru describes in her personalized vocabulary, the latest opus in her series of fertility movements, “TRANCE –FORMATIONS: Doucement…… l’Eau por L’ORI” (Slowly……Water for the ORI) as having two “ak-ts” during two successive days.
