Nu Deco Ensemble Performs ‘Water Music’

Nu Deco Ensemble, a Miami-based, 21st-Century chamber orchestra that presents live, genre-bending orchestral music, is performing at the historic Deering Estate at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue on Sunday, November 22, at 5 p.m. in a concert titled Water Music (gates open at 4 p.m.) This performance marks Concert Two of Nu Deco Ensemble’s collaborative and exciting inaugural season. Water Music will feature Nu Deco Ensemble’s eclectic and signature style, which explores re-imaginings of Bach and Bizet, as well as iconic American composer Aaron Copland. Further works include the music of Andy Akiho, LCD Sound System, co-founder Sam Hyken, and French-pop duo Daft Punk.
Nu Deco Ensemble, a recipient of a 2014 Knight Arts Challenge grant in the amount of $75,000 from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is a 21st century vehicle for expression in art, which aims to connect artists in Miami with one another to inspire collaborative performances. This collective of classically trained South Florida musicians strives to provide leadership in genre-bending musical exploration while creating new hybrids of musical expression.
Guests of Water Music are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and small picnic baskets. No coolers are permitted. Refreshments, craft cocktails, signature organic juices, and food trucks will also be available for an additional fee. Please note that tickets are non-refundable, rain or shine.
