“Original” Beerfest, presented by Isle Casino, on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at America’s Backyard.
Thousands of beer connoisseurs will descend upon Downtown Fort Lauderdale to enjoy unlimited
sampling of more than 100 of the world’s finest local and international beers, all while enjoying
great food and special offers from local restaurants and vendors.
With the exponential growth over the past 16 years of Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s biggest and
most anticipated event, New Times is excited to announce that Beerfest will officially be held at
America’s Backyard to accommodate its fans. In addition to beer tastings, New Times is thrilled to
welcome international reggae sensation, SOJA, to perform as the musical act on the Revolution
Live Outdoors stage. Inspired by the sounds and lyrical poetry of Bob Marley, SOJA strives to tell
their story through an intoxicating mix of hot-rod reggae grooves and urgent, zeitgeist-capturing
themes.
The beer grand-tasting will take place from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and will draw more than 4,000 beer
aficionados for an afternoon of unlimited beer sampling. Attendees may also choose to enjoy the
VIP Experience, which includes entry to the event one hour early, at 3 p.m., and access to an
exclusive VIP experience inside the speak easy-inspired lounge, Stache, featuring unlimited
liquor samples, food samples from some of Fort Lauderdale’s best restaurants, unique craft beers
available only in VIP, comfortable seating, and giveaways.
