New Moon Activations: Aromatherapy
Friday, March 28 2014
5:30 PM-7:00 PM
Girls’ Club presents New Moon Activations, a series of workshops in yoga, meditation and alternative communication practices held on select new moons throughout 2014 to harness the propitious effect on creative endeavors that new moons are known to facilitate.
A New Moon is the first phase of the Moon, when it lies closest to the Sun in the sky as seen from the Earth, and is seen as an absence of the Moon. Lunar movements have been crucial elements throughout human existence. These occurrences have important roles within ancient and modern culture and religion; and have come to signify new beginnings, intense introspection and renewed energies.
This session invites participants to rediscover their senses through aromatherapy and physical exercises with artist Sofia Bastidas.
Please bring your own yoga mat or towel, or both.
$10 fee per person.
Aromatherapy is an ancient medicine that uses plant and herbs essences to create essential oils for the purpose of altering a person’s mind, mood and cognitive function. We can use aromatherapy to align our chakras or energy point. In this session we will smell seven different essential oils that will help the alignment of energy in our bodies, followed by a series of exercises that will activate this alignment and open our being to experience our true selves.
