SOMEJERK
www.somejerk.net
John ‘somejerk’ Gregory has been playing music since he was a child, initially learning to play piano through South Florida’s finest performing arts schools. Eventually John found himself playing bass guitar in punk rock bands and was tiring of having to work with other musicians. He began teaching himself how to produce music, fusing analog performance with digital sampling and arrangement. After years of producing a variety of styles of music, he fell in love with Ableton Live and has not looked back – in 2010 being noted as the “Best New Electronica Artist” by the Miami New Times, DJing across the United States and releasing original bass music compositions through a number of labels and now his own imprint – Signaflo. Now recognized as one of the premiere bass music selectors in Florida, he is armed with original and exclusive music at every BPM range.
John’s sound is best described as bass heavy electronica that pays tribute to hiphop, funk, jazz, reggae and Latin roots. Melodic, progressive, funky and heavy all at once, His attention to sonic detail is matched only by his passion to keep pushing his sound forward.
