In her concert debut as Artistic Director of the Frost School’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, NEA Jazz Master composer, arranger, and bandleader Maria Schneider presents a program featuring Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Egberto Gismonti. Both Schneider, one of the few who has received Grammys in the jazz, classical, and rock genres, and the classically-trained Gismonti, who has explored jazz as well as Amazonian tribal music, have made high art out of blurring musical boundaries.
