What would you do if your job physically destroyed your body and then you were dismissed because of your increasing health issues?
Workers at the General Motors assembly plant in Bogota, Colombia are facing that very challenge. In order to bring attention to their situation, they have maintained a permanent peaceful occupation of the sidewalk in front of the U.S. embassy for over 300 days!
Come learn about this inspiring struggle as well as what we can do in the United States to put pressure on General Motors to resolve this issue. GM was bailed out from its financial crisis in 2008 with tax payer money; the least they owe is accountability to us and to their workers.
See video clips from these courageous workers and get ready to be inspired!
It’s all happening Tuesday, June 26th at 8 pm at Sweat Records.
