Not since the ‘60s has South Florida had much in the way of a folk scene. When Miami born-and-raised singer-guitarist, Keith Johns, quit his day job in a carbon-dating lab to pursue a career in music, his family and friends might have been right to encourage a second thought. None-the-less, Johns applied that scientist’s focus to his new pursuit and is now preparing to release his second album, the self-reflectively titled, Grateful Fool.

In ‘Doomed, Free’, Johns focuses on the relative brevity of our existence to emphasize its magnificence. This is a celebration of life; a eulogy for our past to catalyze its lessons and guide our future, and a reminder to us all that we should seize this moment and be grateful for simply being here right now.
