Walk A Mile With A Child encourages organizations and adults to serve as community mentors to walk with the kids, inspire them, and raise awareness for childhood obesity.

The walk will be followed by a pop-up health and wellness fair at Gibson Park, 401 NW 12th Street, Miami, FL 33136. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in the fit clinic, face painting, games, and a family Zumba class to improve the health and well-being of the entire family.

The National Medical Society(NBA) is a 121-year-old not-for-profit organization that represents the interests of over 40,000 African American physicians and their patients. The James Wilson Bridges Media Society is the local arm of the NMA dedicated to fulfilling their mission to promote optimal health for communities of color.

The health and wellness of Florida’s children is a primary focus. There are many chronic conditions associated with obesity that are easily preventable with a healthy lifestyle. The James Wilson Bridges Medical Society continue to provide health education and resources to the community and are committed to raising awareness about childhood obesity.
