INVENTORY ARCHIVE

Inventory ‘Archive’ brings back and re-contextualizes the works from Inventory’s first two exhibitions, O’bjects of Desire’ and ‘Soul Does Matter’, and places them within the context of the conversation they generated. While ‘Objects of Desire’ focused on the designers and their creative process and ‘Soul Does Matter’ placed the objects front and center, ‘Archive’ has dialog as its focus. In ‘Archive’, objects will be displayed alongside commentary about them, with the goal of further promoting discussion about design.

Inventory’s new location in the Security Building is a theatrical, 5,500-square-foot room located in downtown Miami, a perfect setting for continuing to stimulate thoughts and conversations about design and its role in our lives. The designers featured in Inventory Archive include both local talent and international designers:

Launched in 2011 to wide acclaim, Inventory is an ongoing design exhibition that showcases limited edition/short production run objects and stimulates conversation about design and its role in everyday life. The objects on view are chosen for their sheer ability to inspire. “Design Talks” are a series of weekly conversations held during each exhibition that feature local art and design luminaries and the show’s artists in engaging discussions that are open to the public.

The Miami Herald called Inventory “an exhilarating look at the creative process…proves that good design isn’t necessarily constrained by disciplinary boundaries.”
