I’m Not Gonna Move to L.A. (NOLA) is a monthly short film competition series that gives local artists the opportunity to network, and provides a platform to showcase their work. This month, FilmGate Miami will feature five dramatic shorts; from war heroes, to mermaids, to experimental, this NOLA is not one to miss. Don’t forget to network after the screening with local filmmakers, actors, and other creatives along with our esteemed guest judges, Andres Castillo of Miami International Film Festival and Sandy Lighterman of the Miami-Dade County Office for Film and Entertainment.
Filmmakers:
Billy Corben – Collision Course
Carlos Londono – All Wars End
Barrett Dennison, Luis Galves, & April Dobbins – Black Card

THE PERCOLATOR – 6:30 – 7:00 PM
Starting at the beginning of every NOLA, “The Percolator” is an open platform for storytellers to pitch their projects to their creative peers; from films, to music, to art installations, and even comic books, our goal is to connect artists to start turning visions into realities. So pour yourself a cup of coffee, and be an active member of your creative community- you never know who will be listening!
What you will need to know to prepare for the Percolator:
-The Percolator will take place from 6:30 – 7:00 PM
-Each participant gets 1 minute to pitch, and 1 minute for audience questions
-You must sign up to pitch upon entering the theater; Pitching is based on a first-come-first-served basis, so we encourage participants to come early to reserve their spot.
