IlluminArts presents the little match girl passion

Thursday, June 2 2016

7:00 PM-8:00 PM

IlluminArts, Miami’s Art Song and Vocal Chamber Music Series, presents David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize-winning composition, “the little match girl passion” in an innovative, fully staged week long performance event at the Pérez Art Museum Miami from May 27 – June 2, 2016. Rehearsals will be open to museum visitors, creating a spontaneous interplay of process and audience, and culminating in a free public presentation on June 2, 2016 at 7:00PM. With an all-star cast led by soprano Anne-Carolyn Bird, and under the direction of highly acclaimed young director R.B. Schlather, this collaboration promises to explode perceptions of how classical music can be consumed in the 21st century, and brings a world-class musical event to South Florida audiences. The event is made by possible by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, through its Knight Arts Challenge.
