About Erika Vogt
Erika Vogt (b. 1973, Newark, NJ) uses a broad range of media and techniques to explore the mutability of images and objects. The plaster-cast object is a recurring motif in Vogt’s work, often based on recognizable functional forms made strange through changes in scale and color. The artist’s installations—often suspended from ropes or on mobile racks—fuse elements of sculpture, drawing, video, and photography to produce variegated constellations. Recent solo exhibitions include Triangle France, Marseilles (2014); Hepworth Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK (2014); and the New Museum, New York (2013). Vogt’s work has also been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and SFMOMA, San Francisco. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
