ICA Miami family day provides children and adults the opportunity to interact with local artists through hands on activities that allow participants to have a better understanding of contemporary art.
This family day will focus on works from artist Ryan Sullivan in the main gallery and from Miami-based collective and artist-run gallery Guccivuitton, an atrium exhibition featuring the work of over 25 artists working across mediums, including painting, sculpture and video.
Activities include:
Storytelling session- A children’s storyteller will talk about painting and contemporary art with families in a storytelling fashion
Exhibition I Spy– Interactive exhibition game for families that will engage participants with the artwork throughout the galleries
Be a curator! – Children will have the opportunity to “curate” their own exhibition using found objects and be photographed with their “exhibition”
Abstract Art Activity – families will have the opportunity to create their own individual abstract paintings using fabric and other materials
