The band, which now resides in Los Angeles, originally formed at the University of Florida in Gainesville. After years of producing music and performing at shows they were signed in 2012 by Sonny Moore who’s stage name is Skrillex record label OWSLA. Off the OWSLA record label, they produced and released their sophomore album, The Moon Rang Like a Bell in May of last year. The album received great press from the media, tracks from their sophomore album like, Down from the Rafters and Cavity were highly praised. Pitchfork gave the bands record an 8.3 out of 10 and awarded them with, Best New Music. Rolling Stone Magazine also praised the new album and gave them a 3.5 out of 5. The album got a face-lift and was re-released this year as a series of remixes. Tracks off the album were remixed by, Dirty Beaches, Plaid, Bvdub, Shigeto, and Huxley just to name a few.
The band is no stranger to touring and has toured with many popular bands such as the XX, Alt-J and Julia Holter and last year they made their way touring with Interpol. Many categorize the band’s sound as Indie meets Synth-Pop and this can clearly be heard in the music they produce. Their sound has drawn many parallels to Stereolab, Bjork, and Four Tet. Their North American tour, which started February 11 last month in San Diego, concludes March 16 in New Orleans.
