Humanum Absoluta – Subtropical Mysticism
December 4 - December 10 2017
10:00 AM-7:00 PM
For the unveiling of Nicole Salcedo’s Humanum Absoluta – A Subtropical Mysticism, she will open up her cottage-temple by the Miami River during Miami Art Week, and use the piece as a focal point in a series of private meditation sessions.
Humanum Absoluta, a large-scale graphite drawing created over the span of five months, is a vision of a penultimate form of being, removing the veil of duality and unifying masculine/feminine, order/chaos, sun/moon, past/future, and life/death. Using the subtropical language of native Florida landscapes, Humanum Absoluta is a particularly localized meditative manifestation, reflective of the environment that inspired it. Humanum Absoluta invites you onto a path of communion with Nature.
