Happy Endings: A Post Basel Recovery Group Exhibition
Opening Reception – Monday December 8th, 2014 – 5pm – 9pm
3440 NW 7th Ave. Miami FL 33127
Happy Endings is a local artist-run group show that will take place after the conclusion of Art Basel, Miami. The primary purpose of the exhibition is to unwind and remind: there is still a thriving, close-knit community of artists in Miami that remains after the art fairs have gone.
The show will be hosted by Double Space, located West of Wynwood at a brand new development called WOW Shops. WOW Shops founders Ramiro Fernandez and Amalfi Gayosso have developed properties for lease to artists, musicians, and like-minded entrepreneurs. Providing space to the ever-expanding ambitions of the local art community that makes Miami a more culturally thriving city.
The Happy Endings exhibition will occupy all available space at WOW Shops expanding out of Double Space’s walls to take over the property with a variety of art installations, video work, painting, and sculpture by Miami artists. The opening reception will cater to the needs for those recovering from Art Week events with live music, beer and BBQ as well as hired massage therapists to offer free massages to everyone.
The Reception will be followed by a migration to the beach behind the Deauville Beach Resort where the TM Sisters will host a Basel Leftovers’ Midnight Beach picnic that will continue the theme of laid-back recovery, Miami style.
