Hailing from Linköping, Sweden, Ghost formed in in 2008. They released their heralded debut album, Opus Eponymous, on October 18, 2011. UK’s Metal Hammer praised the album saying it was “an arcane occult feast,” while this side of the pond Decibel Magazine hailed they “compel on pretty much every sensory level,” and the Village Voice proclaimed “Ghost is Swedish, heavy, and tasked with slicing your soul to bits–or at least your ears.” In 2011, Ghost performed at the annual Download Festival in the United Kingdom. The band’s fanbase began to swell and not long after added some of Hard Rock’s finest to this group. Additionally that year, Ghost took part in the Defenders of Faith III tour with Trivium, In Flames and Rise to Remain. In early 2012, they embarked on their first tour of the United States and later that year shared the stage with Mastodon and Opeth on their Heritage Hunter Tour in North America. That summer the band was invited by Metallica’s James Hetfield to perform on the mainstage of Metallica’s first annual Orion Music + More festival. Ghost released their second psalm INFESTISSUMAM on April 16th via Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-song offering was produced by Grammy® Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains) in Nashville, TN and debuted today at #1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart. SPIN called the album, “one of the most anticipated heavy metal albums of 2013.” Following the album’s release, Ghost embarked on a massive headlining US tour and performed at the Rock On The Range, Coachella, and Lollapalooza music festivals. The band is currently visiting arenas around the country supporting Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones. – See more at: http://www.jointherevolution.net/2014/05/ghost/#sthash.JycBvyRA.dpuf
