6:00 PM-9:00 PM
New York based French American painter Eric Demarchelier will be traveling to Miami to present his 2016 work honoring Pablo Picasso. The exhibition features fourteen pieces of oil on canvas. The debut of Demarchelier’s exhibition will be hosted in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotel Miami on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Bahía, the recently renovated poolside restaurant and lounge.
Trained by St. Petersburg master painter Leonid Gervis, Demarchelier has been avidly painting for the past 25 years. A native of Normandy, he divides his time between New York City and his atelier in Shelter Island. Known for his range of complex and engaging abstract styles, Demarchelier merges formalistic opposites of color, shape, texture and form to evoke the perceptual field. In this new series of paintings, Demarchelier pays homage to some of Pablo Picasso’s most famous paintings from “Dora Maar” to “Toreador.”
On April 29th, Four Seasons Hotel Miami will host an “art walk” on their 7th floor pool terrace featuring works by Demarchelier. The exhibit will take place during the new monthly happy hour Bahía Nights, which features Veuve Clicquot Rose and Belvedere vodka, a specialty Bahia bites and cocktail menu with offerings starting from $9, and a DJ. Tucked atop the 7th floor of the AAA Five Diamond Hotel, the two-acre tropical oasis was recently named as having one of the “Best Hotel Pools in Miami” by Conde Nast Traveler. Guests will preview Demarchelier’s artworks while strolling through a lush canopy walkway located adjacent to the rooftop pool.
Demarchelier’s paintings will be on sale during the Bahía Nights exhibition. The paintings will be priced between $7,000 to $10,000. This event is free and open to the general public. Four Seasons Miami Hotel is located at 1435 Brickell Avenue, Miami, FL. 33131. To RSVP or to request an interview with Eric Demarchelier, email Susset Cabrera at [email protected].
