Join Max Schumann, Tom Phillips, Michael Basinksi and Primary Information for an afternoon of discussion and performance poetry. This program is organized in conjunction with A Human Document: Selections from the Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry, on view at PAMM through May 25, 2014. Primary Information is currently researching the Sackner collection, a vast repository of historic and contemporary works that synthesize word and image.

Max Schumann, Associate Director of Printed Matter, New York, speaks about the distribution of artists’ books and publications.

Artist Tom Phillips, whose seminal work A Humument inspired the exhibition’s title, joins the discussion from London via Skype.
3:30pm
Michael Basinski, a poet and curator of Poetry and Rare Books Collections of SUNY, Buffalo, New York, performs a hybrid poetry reading and lecture.
4pm
James Hoff of Primary Information, a New York-based organization devoted to publishing artists’ books and writings moderates a discussion with the participants.
