Mahan Esfahani has made it his life’s mission to rehabilitate the harpsichord, bringing a rock star quality to both the keyboard and the music. He makes his NWS debut in a program that spans from the Baroque era’s C.P.E. Bach to Iannis Xenakis’ futuristic treatment that amplifies the harpsichord and features flowerpots as percussion instruments. Considered the Father of the String Quartet, Joseph Haydn meditates in D minor and Brass Fellows shine in a suite of choral works by Heinrich Schütz.
