4:00 PM-9:30 PM
Buskerfest Miami Street Performance Festival returns to Downtown Miami on Friday, December 9th. From 4-7pm, local musicians, theater groups, comedians, acrobats, dancers and more will be showcasing their talents at ground level of the Metromover Inner Loop stations and select satellite locations, including Miami Center for Architecture and Design, the host of the Buskerfest Miami Children’s Corner. This year the children’s corner boasts an array of activities to help you get in the performance spirit; there will be a musical story time with Alina Celeste and ongoing craft making opportunities! New this year is the Comedy Corner by Comic Cure, sure to bring laughter to the streets! Starting at 6pm take a look back at Miami’s past and enjoy archival footage presented by the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Florida Moving Image Archives on the big screen at Tina Hills. At 7 pm the party moves to Bayfront Park for a concentrated showcase of buskers dubbed the Buskextravaganza! The final performance and wrap-up party begins at 8pm at the Tina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park, featuring a groove-heavy performance by Ketchy Shuby, the originators of “Downtown Miami Soul.”
The event is FREE for attendees and offers a unique opportunity to meet the local performance community and revel in the diversity of Miami’s culture. Attendees can pick up a Buskerfest passport at any stop to track their travels, select their favorite act of the night, enter a raffle and cash in on deals and discounts offered by downtown businesses, restaurants and bars.
