Brotherly Love Productions Presents a Hope From Harrison Foundation Benefit featuring SWIMM + Sea & Space

Friday, November 29 2013

9:00 PM-11:30 PM

Raising money for families with children born with excessive medical needs, the Hope From Harrison Foundation has found another family of focus and just the right bands, venue and date to make a real impact on the local level. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we invite everyone to attend this benefit concert featuring SWIMM and Sea & Space at the Funky Buddha Lounge & Brewery in Boca Raton on Friday, November 29th. A portion of ticket and all raffle sales will directly benefit the Brennen Blake and his family.

The Blake family is in need of our support as they deal with the tough hand son Brennen was dealt. Born prematurely at just 26 weeks, weighing 2lbs 2oz and measuring 13″ long was just the beginning of his challenge. Suffering blood clots that cut oxygen flow to his brain caused a form of blindness, daily seizures and the need to be fed through a gastrointestinal tube. Providing physical, occupational and speech therapy twice a week as well as regular visits to eight specialists leaves little time for his single mom to work and earn money. That’s where the Hope From Harrison Foundation, our community and you come in. For more of Brennen’s story, visit: http://hopefromharrisonfoundation.org/harrisons-impact/brennen-blake-family/

ABOUT SEA & SPACE
Sea & Space is a South Florida-based electro-folk band that creates their signature floating liquid grooves by juxtaposing layers of acoustic and electronic music through alternative sound mediums. These interwoven complexities are further defined by the bands’ intentional use of negative space, creating engaging musical effect through silence or minimalism. www.facebook.com/SeaAndSpace

ABOUT HOPE FROM HARRISON FOUNDATION
Hope From Harrison is committed to raising awareness and resources for the families of critically needy children who require hospital or in-home medical care. From our experience with Harrison and advocating for his needs, we learned that with even the best of public program support, most families are left in an extremely difficult, exhausting and frightening environment to care for their critically needy children. The public systems are not designed to help everyone equally nor are they designed to help the specific needs of these families. This often results in dangerous and harmful living conditions for these children and their caregivers.

At the time of Harrison’s death, Melissa and I were solely responsible for his 24 hour medical care because we had exhausted the allotted in-home nursing care benefits through our medical insurance. We had applied for Medicaid and were put in the typical 30-45 day waiting period for approval. It was not logistically possible to hold down jobs and the intensive 24-hour medical care was physically and mentally exhausting. When we were faced with making life saving decisions for our Harrison we were not able to function at even a normal level.

Hope From Harrison believes it can honor the life and memory of Harrison Everett Hudson the best and make the most significant impact in our community by addressing these “gaps” in service and provide relief, knowledge, reliable in-home care, and other specialty services tailored to individual patients and family needs. Your support for Hope From Harrison will make a significant impact in the lives of children and families that need it most and who typically do not have the time, energy or resources to improve the existing in-home health care system.
