Borscht 8

12:00 AM
The 8th edition of the Borscht Film Fetival, featuring the first earthly screening of original commissioned short films by Miami talent, guest filmmakers as well as submissions from the community. Hosted by Star Prince Akilobataar.
In the past the festival was completely free, but last year several hundred people had to be turned away when we sold out of a limited number of reserved seats.
So this year we thought the most fair way to do things was to make all the tickets available for sale at moviesbro.com
you can show up on the day and wait in the standby line, and at 7:45 any available tickets will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis.
So basically if you don’t want to stress about waiting until the last minute to see if you have a seat, just buy a ticket and support indie filmmaking in Miami. You will also get some surprise goodies with the purchase (previous giveaways have included temporary tattoos, Uncle Luke whoopie cushions, slap bracelets, and custom tamagotchis).
Films start promptly at 8:00. At 7:45 there will be the first annual MISTER BORSCHT body-building contest.

The Borscht Film Festival commissions and showcases films by emerging artists that tell Miami stories that go beyond the city’s insipid exterior. Borscht doesn’t just screen films, it makes them, forging the cinematic identity of the city.
The complete lineup will be announced on December 1st.
Borscht is possible thanks to a generous grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
