Primal Forces is proud to present Blonde Poison, based on the true story of Stella Kubler who, in present day London, reflects on her harrowing days as a young Jewish girl in Nazi Germany. The stunning play by Gail Louw is directed by Keith Garsson, and stars four-time Carbonell Award-winner Lourelene Snedeker. Tickets are available at www.primalforces.com or call 866-811-4111.
“Lourelene is a phenomenally gifted actor who brings a deeply conflicted and complex character to life,” said director Keith Garsson. “As the audience learns about Stella’s past, will they see her as a victim or were her misdeeds as monstrous as those who imprisoned her?”
Decades after the war, Stella agrees to be interviewed by her childhood friend Peter Wyden, who had a schoolyard crush on her in his youth and is now a prominent journalist. This reunion may be her last chance for redemption. Can she ever be released from her past? Louw’s powerful play examines the motivation of an ordinary person who makes extraordinary choices. Winner of an Argus Angel Award for artistic excellence at the Brighton Festival and Fringe 2012, named Highly Recommended at the Camden Fringe 2013 and Best of San Francisco Fringe 2016, the play is a compelling and artful exploration of the darkest corners of a human heart.
An actor with a body of work that spans almost 50 years, Lourelene Snedeker began as a child actor with the Charlotte Opera Association. Nominated in South Florida for over 21 Carbonell Awards (she’s won four), some of her nods have included Hayfever (Hollywood Boulevard Theatre),Heartbeats (Actors Playhouse/Caldwell), Cabaret Verboten (Florida Stage/Arts Garage), Steel Pier & Floyd Collins (both Actors Playhouse) and Phantom (Jupiter Theatre). Her wins came for On Your Toes (Royal Palm Dinner Theatre), Beauty and the Beast and White Christmas (both Actors Playhouse) and Sound of Music (Wick Theatre). She has also garnered Best Actress nominations with a Lillie Stoats Award nod for Meet Me in St. Louis (Mark II) and a Cincinnati Entertainment nomination for Rabbit Hole (Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati). In recognition of over 30 years of artistic association, Lourelene was given the Seaside Music Theatre’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
